I bloodbend for the sake of healing. My mother had done it and I intend to do the same. I see nothing wrong with making my cases fall asleep when the pain is too much to bear.

Desmond knows that I bloodbend, they all do. It’s no secret. But they all trust me, so how can I betray them?

Pirate grandpa is, of course, a waterbender ^^(He’s from the Fire Isles so he gets a red sash and no fur)

Not until recently anyway. For the past nine years of my life I lived as a non-bender. I knew what had happened to the Avatars in the past generations, so I had to hide myself, I didn’t want that to happen to me. Hiding from my dad, hiding from Abstergo. That was how it was until they found me, that was how it was until things had to change.

And maybe that’s why I still find it hard to pick up earthbending. I can adapt easily to whatever situation you put me through because I know I need to do it to survive. But I never found my stability when I was a kid and even more so now on the run from Abstergo.

If only he could see me now, huh? I may have been the worst student he’s ever had the chance of teaching, but I’m his son and I got better. I had to. I have to make the guys proud of me.

To be honest, I miss him sometimes. He’s an asshole, but he’s still my dad.

“But I believe, Desmond can save the world!”

I love love LOVE Avatar AU by Muffarino and NickVinsky. Possibly my favourite thing on the internet right now. Go give it some attention! I hope the creators won’t mind me making Desmond’s tattoo shine as well. I couldn’t resist. X3

Aaaaaaah! This is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so so so much. <3 -Muffy

Children.

Children.

“Desmond’s a really quick learner, we’ve noticed. He was able to pick up airbending and firebending quite easily. He’d even challenge me to a mock Agni Kai every now and then which I though was very impressive! I’m glad that he could keep up.”

“His waterbending lacks control but I believe that it’s our relationship that’s affecting that rather than his ability to learn.”

“He’ll come around, Connor. Don’t worry. But the hardest element for Desmond, eh?”

“Earthbending, most definitely.”

“I agree. Altair was not the most— patient teacher.”

“The first time Desmond earthbent though, it was magnificent! But he was very angry, he had enough of Altair treating him like dirt.”

“Needless to say, instead of a thank you that Altair got, Desmond punched him in the face.”

’Now we’re even, you asshole,’ he said.”

“To be honest, I thought Altair deserved it. Malik did too.”

Malik said that he wasn’t a bender, and it was hard for me to believe that. He was just so grounded, he had a firmer grasp on things than Altair did. He still held steady even when he lost his arm, his brother, and his life almost. But he never lost his sword. Altair told me that he was the best swordsman the Earth Kingdom’s ever been blessed with and I didn’t doubt him.

Sometimes, when he thinks that no one’s watching, I see him unsheathe that sword of his and look at it as though it might bring everything back.

He knew things have turned out differently though. He takes care of us, he teaches Aveline how to use a sword properly, how it might add to her firebending. Leonardo turns to him for advice about the stars. He’s extremely mature, and I can’t believe he’s younger than me. God.

I swear, the guy knows everything like it was the back of his hand.

'I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better group of teachers— no, a better group of friends to help me.'
